Visit Google Business Page and sign in using your Gmail account. As we mentioned before, you need to have a gmail account to be able to register your business on Google Map.
Google gives you three options to choose from as your business type. Your options are Storefront, Service Area and Brand. The Storefront is for all types of retail businesses. Service Area is for service companies and Brand is for Artists, Organizations and Brands. Chooses the one that is relevant yo your business.
On the next page, you need to type in your business name in the text box on the top left corner. Google will show you a list of businesses already registered. Look for your business name through the list, and if none of them matches your business then click on the bottom of the list where it says “add your business”
Here you can type in your business details. Try to be accurate. Your potential clients may use Google Maps to get directions to your office. Make sure that you choose relevant categories as well. As you type in the category, Google will show you available categories. You can choose as many categories as you need. If you deliver goods and services to your customers at their location, make sure to check the related box.
Now you need to decide if you want to target your customers based on zip codes or miles radius. You can type in as many zip codes as you want or you can simply specify how far in a radius range you want to deliver your services to clients. As a website designer, I chose 80 miles radius from Bethesda, Maryland
You need to confirm your business information and also confirm that you are authorized to manage this business. You should agree with the terms of service as well. At this point Google will create a Google+ Business Page for you based on your business info.
Placing your business on Google maps is almost done. Google will send you a postcard with the verification code to make sure that your information is correct.
